Same-day emergency dentistry in Dillsburg, PA

You should never hesitate or be scared to visit Dillsburg Dental for a dental emergency. We’re here for you and are dedicated to making sure your experience is as comfortable as possible. Dr. Tomczyk sees patients same-day for emergencies; if you need help after regular office hours, call our emergency phone number and a member of our on-call staff will be happy to assist you.

Once we diagnose the problem, we will carefully explain what the cause of the pain is and the ways to resolve it. We also use digital imagery to help show the problem so you can see what’s going on yourself. You’ll know exactly what is going on and never feel left in the dark.

While accidents can happen at any time, one of the best ways to prevent emergencies is with regular cleanings and checkups at our Dillsburg dental office. Many potential emergencies can be nipped in the bud with preventive care. Bi-yearly visits can catch problems before they become a “pain.”

The most common dental emergencies seen in our Dillsburg dental office include:

  • Missing fillings
  • Broken, chipped teeth
  • Root canals and extractions
  • Re-implant and stabilize teeth
  • Abscess care
  • Denture repair
  • Crown/bridgework
  • Veneer replacement
  • Bonding repair

It’s important to know what to do if you experience a dental emergency.

Object caught in teeth: Try to use dental floss to see if the object can be removed if it is between the teeth. If it is in the biting surface of the tooth try removing it with your tooth brush. If you cannot remove the object, schedule an appointment to see Dr. Tomczyk.

Broken, chipped, or fractured tooth: Contact our office right away. Broken teeth can lead to infections and abscesses, which often result in root canals or extractions.

Knocked-out tooth: If you can find the tooth, gently rinse the tooth under water without removing any tissue from it. Place the tooth in milk or water. Resolve the bleeding by compressing the gum with a wet wash cloth. Come to the office as soon as possible so we can re-implant and splint the tooth.

Toothache: If you are a current patient with an up-to-date health history, Dr. Tomczyk can recommend medication to take prior to your appointment if they are in a lot of pain. We will always accommodate patients in pain the same day during office hours.

Broken jaw: If you suspect you have a broken jaw, go directly to the emergency room where an oral surgeon can evaluate your case.
